Fulfilling God’s Call in Your Life: Born For His Glory

John 18:37 … for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth..

You have a call in God. You have a mission to fulfill. There is a purpose for your life. The call of God is foundational to your life. The amount of deep and lasting satisfaction and fulfillment you experience in life is determined by the extent to which you find and live out your purpose.

You and I exist for more than just to “eat, drink, and be happy”. In fact the pursuit of such a lifestyle has produced the most miserable and empty people in the world. It’s a deception of Satan that many, including some who claim to be Christ-followers, have embraced. The result is frustration and emptiness that lead into even more selfish living that separates one farther from God and people.

St. Augustine said it well when he said, “Lord, you have made us for yourself. And our hearts are restless until they find their rest in you.” Your true identity is in God. And the true purpose and meaning of your life is found in God. It cannot be located in anyone else or in any thing. Accept your call and you will find true meaning. Embrace your call and you will experience deep satisfaction.

You and I are called to serve God. We are called to win souls and make disciples. Use your God-given talents and skills to serve God. Exercise your spiritual gifts (abilities) to build people up spiritually. Tell others about their need of Jesus and how they can be reconciled to the Father in heaven. And help those who receive the good news of God’s kingdom & salvation grow to become mature disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. These things you do while you go about your normal duties in the home, at school, in the office, or in the business marketplace. Because you are naturally relating to people every single day, you can live out your purpose right where you are. That is challenging, but also exciting and fulfilling.

Fear should not hinder you from living out your call in God. Your past must not keep you from reaching out to people with the precious good news of salvation through Jesus Christ. Your relationships have the potential of blocking your path to fulfilling your purpose in God; don’t allow them to. Nothing and no one should be allowed to rob you of your fullness of life which is found in living for God.

Don’t run away from your call. Be assured that you already have the power of God inside you so that you can fulfill your call. The Lord will help you to succeed. He will not fail you.

The Lord’s rich blessings be on you and your family this week!
