- God designed man as a 3-part (3-dimensional) being: spirit, soul, and body
- spirit relates to God and spiritual things, soul to self and other people, body to the physical world; soul is composed of mind, emotions, and will (1 Thess 5:23)

MOST CHRISTIANS FUNCTION MOSTLY OUT OF THEIR EMOTIONS
– to be OVER-influenced by feelings is not proper and falls short of God’s wise ways
– the value or importance of an idea, event, relationship, etc. is evaluated on whether it brings “lingaw” or enjoyment (Jeremiah 17:9; Proverbs 28:26)
GOD WANTS YOU TO LIVE A REASONED AND INTENTIONAL LIFE (Philippians 4:8-9; Philippians 3:7-11; Philippians 3:12-16)
“Reasoned” here means “characterized by careful thought” or “characterized by careful reasoned thinking”
“Intentional” here means “premeditated” or ”done with full consciousness of the nature and effects”
– Living an intentional life means living life with knowledge that the decisions one is making will accomplish one’s purpose of glorifying God and accomplishing one’s mission on earth
