Some years ago, Gary Chapman did the world a lot of good by popularizing the idea of the “languages of love”. It really helped husbands express love to their wives in ways that were deeply felt. Wives were able to communicate love to their husbands in manners that were meaningful and much appreciated. Parents found ways to let their children feel that they were special to them through acts that the children found touching and relevant to their needs or desires.

People do feel more loved when love is expressed to them in ways that they find to be meaningful and special. But do you know that it is possible to speak of God as also having “love languages” that deeply touch his heart? Yes, God may also be described as finding some expressions of love for him very touching and endearing.

Today, let’s receive God’s love for us. And let us also learn a few more ideas on loving God back. God deserves our deepest devotion and most passionate service. Let’s allow ourselves to be inspired and empowered to love God in ways that thrill his heart and satisfy his soul.
