The Power of Being Under Cover

God’s plan for you is to live under his protection and blessing! He is involved in your life to move your life according to his glorious purposes. You are at your best state when you are living according to God’s perfect design for your life. God has delegated the care of you to people to whom he gave ability to do all that’s necessary to move you forward so that you fulfil what God wants in your life. These people are your parents, pastors, government officials, company management, teachers & school officials, husbands (for the wives), and others who have legitimate authority over you. Though no human being leads perfectly (and some can be negligent, unreasonable, or even abusive at times), God has commanded that you and I live under authority. That is, ultimately, the best way to relate to authority. Even political analysts recognize that the worst form of government is anarchy (when each one does what he wants and considers himself/herself his own leader). Because submission to authority and its legitimate uses or demands is God’s desire for you and me, we who follow Christ do well to live under authority. That is what God wants. Submission pleases God. God works out his purposes through authority lines he has established. There is great blessing in relating with respect to those who are above you. You will reap good things when you honor those whom God has placed over you. On the other hand, many blessings are missed by those who do not submit to their leaders. And those who refuse to follow the lead of those under whose care they have been entrusted may find themselves suffering seriously because of their willful disobedience.
