Merry Christmas Lighthouse family! Today we celebrate in our worship gatherings the good news of Christmas! Because of his great love for humanity, God the Father sent Jesus Christ, the Son, so that you and I can have true and lasting joy, and experience genuine & undying love. The eternal Son of God voluntarily came to earth so you and I can be forgiven of our sins, find purpose that gives meaning to our lives, and have peace within ourselves as well as with our fellowmen. Jesus Christ was rich, yet for our sake, he became poor so that we, through his poverty, might become rich (1 Corinthians 8:9)! He came from heaven to earth to show us the way to the Father. He came so we can experience genuine love. He became a human being so we can have true peace. He came to give us life through the gift of a right relationship with God. He came to bring meaning and value to our little lives which he lifts up to greatness through his mission which Christ shares with us. Christmas can be a very happy season! We can enjoy the parties, shopping, reunions, gift-giving, and the like. But more importantly, we can find something deeper, more lasting, and more substantive. Jesus Christ gives them all to us through the sacrifice of himself which began with his birth and culminating in his death, burial, resurrection, and ascension. What we desperately lacked, what we most needed, what we could never find a solution to on our own, what we have been searching for, and what we have been longing for all our days, we find in Christ! He is the gift we’ve always needed. He is the present we have all wanted. Your celebration of the Christmas season doesn’t have to be expensive yet shallow, too stressful, and unsatisfying. Understand the true meaning of Christmas through the Bible. Experience it through personal & family prayer. Celebrate it in God’s presence with God’s people! Live it out by sharing the life-changing Christmas message by word as well as by practical action! May you and your family enjoy your best Christmas celebration so far!
