FREEDOM AND LIFE THROUGH OVERCOMING IGNORANCE AND APATHY

IGNORANCE IS DEADLY OR DESTRUCTIVE Hosea 4:6 My People are destroyed for lack of knowledge.... WE NEED TO OVERCOME IGNORANCE IF WE WANT TO ENJOY FREEDOM AND LIFE 1 Corinthians 12:1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed. Romans 10:1 Brothers and sisters, my heart's desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved. 2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness... 21 But of Israel he says, "All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people." APATHY IS DANGEROUS OR DEADLY Zephaniah 1:12 At that time I will search Jerusalem with lamps, and I will punish the men who are complacent, those who say in their hearts, 'The Lord will not do good, nor will he do ill.' 13 Their goods shall be plundered, and their houses laid waste. Though they build houses, they shall not inhabit them; though they plant vineyards, they shall not drink wine from them." Revelation 3:15 "I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! 16 So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. Proverbs 24:33 A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, 34 and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and lack like an armed man. James 4:17 So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin. WE ALSO NEED TO OVERCOME APATHY IF WE ARE SERIOUS ABOUT LIVING IN FREEDOM AND TRUE LIFE John 5:39 You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, 40 yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life. HOW TO OVERCOME IGNORANCE SO WE CAN ENJOY FREEDOM AND LIFE. Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge... Acts 17:10 The brothers immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, and when they arrived they went into the Jewish synagogue. 11 Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so. HOW TO OVERCOME APATHY SO WE ENJOY FREEDOM AND LIFE. James 1:22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves... 25 But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing. Romans 12:11 Do not be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord PURSUE KNOWLEDGE AND CARE ENOUGH FOR THE TRUTH TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT SO YOU ENJOY FREEDOM AND LIFE Proverbs 1:5 Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance. 1 Chronicles 12:32 Of Issachar, men who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, 200 chiefs, and all their kinsmen under their command... 38 All these, men of war, arrayed in battle order, came to Hebron with a whole heart to make David king over all Israel.
