10 Killers of Spiritual Revival
Treasures. They are articles of great value. They are very much sought after. Once people have them, they tend to go to great lengths to protect them. We are all familiar with movies, books, and TV shows that tell thrilling stories of treasures that are protected by the latest high-tech alarms, laser sensors, security cameras, highly-trained and well-armed guards, and more. The gold bars of the US government, for example, are stored and secured inside Fort Knox which is a highly secure US military camp. This is done in order to provide the best available protection of the treasures from being stolen or lost.
You and I are also possessors of great treasures. They are not earthly treasures like gold, but they are even more valuable because they benefit us not only for our lives here on earth, but even until eternity. These treasures are the spiritual knowledge, power, and secrets of the kingdom of God. A common term used to describe them is “revival”. The Lord has given us spiritual life and treasures (revival). We need to do our very best to guard these treasures from being lost or stolen by the enemy of our souls or even by people who are pursuing their own interests instead of the purposes of God.
Today, we want to talk about 10 Killers of Spiritual Revival. These are 10 things that we must not allow into our lives (individually and collectively as a church), lest they steal the spiritual treasures that God has entrusted to us. These include spiritual pride, over-emphasis on manifestations, under-emphasis on the Word of God, tolerance of sin, familiarity with presence of God, and more. We must do everything within our power to avoid the killers of revival so that we will continue to enjoy and flourish in the wonderful work of God in our lives.
