Colossians 2:6 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, 7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
As humans, we tend to perpetuate or continue the really good things. We hang around as often as we can with people who have a really positive and joyful influence on us. We return to restaurants where we enjoyed some really tasty cuisine and great ambience at affordable prices. We revisit stores where we were able to buy some great stuff at low prices. We keep doing things that make us feel better. Good things are worth doing again. Great goals are worth pursuing persistently. In the same way, we are wise in acting to pursue the new and good spiritual things that the Lord is doing in our lives. The transforming work of God in our lives is worth welcoming, nurturing, and allowing full activation in our lives. We have began to come out of spiritual darkness into spiritual light. Whereas we were once blind to things that are true and that really matter, now we are beginning to see clearly. Once we were imprisoned in destructive emotions, thoughts and ideas, practices, or relationships, now we are being set free to experience the great life that God wants for us to have. These new and wonderful things that the Lord is doing in our lives are worth continuing. In fact, we will be blessed if we bring them to a higher level so that God’s good, pleasing, and perfect plan will be fulfilled in our own lives. For many of us, the past 5 weeks have been very life-changing. The Lord touched our lives deeply. He removed our sins, our bitterness, our shame, our pain, and many other negative or destructive things. And he replaced them with a righteous standing before God, inner peace, confidence before God and people, joy, and much more. Great things are happening. Many more wonderful things are coming. But we have a role to play: we have to want the continuing work of God in our lives, and we need to cooperate with God in the glorious process of transforming us to be like Christ in our character. God will do his part. Of that you can be sure. As you do your part, the relationship you have with God will provide the fertile ground that will yield a harvest of great eternal things for God’s glory and the good of us and those around us. May the Lord rich blessings be on you, your family, and your ministry this week and always! Lathur Badoy
