Deuteronomy 28:1 “And if you faithfully obey the voice of the LORD your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth…. 15 But if you will not obey the voice of the LORD your God or be careful to do all his commandments and his statutes that I command you today, then all these curses shall come upon you and overtake you.”
A blessed new year to all. The Lord in his grace has given us one more year to live, to love, to serve, to enjoy, and to worship him. We are all beneficiaries of his great kindness and mercy. Regardless of how the previous year turned out for you, there is much hope for you this year. Don’t give up. Don’t give in. Hope in God. And, of course, do your part for your life to change. Prayer is a powerful weapon for change. Breakthroughs and miracles are possible when we pray. As the new year starts, people are consciously or unconsciously, quietly or outspokenly searching for things that will help make the year 2019 a better year for them compared to the previous year. There are many who offer “secrets to success” and the like. While some of those advices may be genuinely helpful, the best advice we can get is from the record of God’s thoughts and words, the holy Scriptures or the Bible. In the Bible we find the most reliable and time-tested means of making life work as it was meant to be by the One who made us, the Lord God All-Powerful. What are the keys to blessings? We find very clear summary answers in the word of God. The answers may sound too simple, but they really are basic enough for every human being to grasp and apply, regardless of our educational attainment or situations in life. What are the causes of curses? The bottom-line answers are also easy to grasp and very doable if we want to do them. The Lord’s answers to the two questions are very powerfully life-transforming.
