“Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it!”
- Jesus Christ (Luke 11:28)
Dear Lighthouse family: The year 2020 is here. We are adjusting to the changes the new year brought in. We feel the challenge that the start of a new season ushered. And with the help of the Lord, we will move forward and accomplish what the Lord has planned for us this year. Though the coming of new years can bring with them some very unique situations in some cases, the basic stance of the people of God remain pretty much the same. This is so because no matter what may come, the basic preparations and responses are constant. The Word of God, the Bible, contains the wisdom and instructions of God, and we will succeed in glorifying God in any year when we know and do the will of God. The year 2020 may bring with it some intensified challenges and tests. There may be pressures that may, for many people, be greater than they have ever faced. Thus we need to be truly strong and founded. Each year, the month of January is mostly preparation month for us at the Lighthouse family. We prepare so that we can honor God by loving obedience and great conquests. We trust that you are taking our 21-Day Prayer and Fasting season seriously. Though you may not fast or abstain from food in some ways for the whole 21-day season (some may fast for 3 days or 7 days), we strongly encourage you to pray more than before during the whole 21-day season. If you do, you will have some of the sweetest victories ever in your life so far. You will see some very difficult situations begin to turn around in your favor, and you will rejoice in winning some battles that you have fought for some time already because now you are praying with some fasting. For you to advance in 2020, you need to act and not be passive or distracted. Perhaps more than ever, you need to apply everything you have learned about living for God. We will talk about some foundational heart attitudes and action responses that will help us advance this year 2020 and beyond. Yes there may be troubles and difficulties, but the right action steps will give us victory and success for the glory of God. With love and prayers, Lathur and Leah Badoy
