Deuteronomy 1:6 The LORD our God said to us at Horeb, "You have stayed long enough at this mountain. 7 Break camp and advance... 8 See, I have given you this land. Go in and take possession of the land..."
The Lord wants you to advance strongly to a higher level this year 2017! He wants you to reach greater heights for his glory and for your good & the good of those around you. He wants that this year 2017 will be a year of bigger and better things for you and your family. The Lord will do his part. He will fulfill his promises. He will show himself strong and faithful. You can count on him completely. He is a loving Father who will care for you. You can rest on his faithful love and great power. The question is: Will you do your part? Will you pursue with enough seriousness the things that are important to God? Or will you just fulfill the ‘minimum’ requirements of God so you will obtain blessing and avoid trouble, and spend the rest (the bigger part of your life- your time, energy, money, talents, etc) for yourself? The Lord is genuinely and passionately concerned for you and me. But it’s not all about us. In fact, it’s really more about him. Yes, the Lord is working to accomplish his purposes that will bring glory to him and at the same bring the greatest good to people who will love & obey him. God’s concern for you and me is not just our comfort, material or finance abundance, fulfillment of all our dreams, and the like. His primary and greater concern is to mold our character to become like the character of his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, while at the same time using us to establish his rule or kingdom in all spheres of human society. It’s more about him than about us. It’s also more about the eternal than the earthly. Yes, God strongly desires that you and I enjoy life on this present earth. But he is more concerned that we are truly rich in and ready for eternity. Everything on this present earth will be destroyed, except the Word of God and the people who love & obey God. The earthly will not last, but the eternal will. So let us make sure that we are most prepared and heavily-invested in the things that last forever because they are the things that really matter the most. As we talk about advancing strongly to the next level this year 2017, keep the above-mentioned things in mind, and live according to them. If you do, you will be doing the will of God and will be richly rewarded for it both in this life and in the life to come. The Lord’s rich blessings be on you and your family and ministry!
