Compel the Lost to Come In
Many people in the world lead lives that have no meaning. Some are on the path to eternal destruction and they don’t know or care. Millions are living in misery, bondage, and without hope. The sad thing is that some of them are people that we know and relate with. Some are friends, family, neighbors, office mates, and school mates.
“How can they call on the one they have not believed in? How can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? How can they hear without someone preaching to them?”(Romans 10:14).
We are responsible for warning the people about the danger of rejecting the Lord’s offer of salvation. It is our obligation to bring the good news of forgiveness of sins to them. We need to pray harder, work harder, and set up our spiritual nets again and again so that we can bring in the harvest of lost people.
Jesus commanded his people in Luke 14:24, “Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel the people to come in“. The word COMPEL means to GRAB AND PULL THEM IN. In our own linggo, it means HALA BIRA!
To evangelize the world and win souls is God’s highest priority. Therefore, every church must be an evangelistic church and every believer an evangelistic believer. We must step up in bringing people closer to God. We must employ different strategies in words and actions to bring them to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.
Today, Lighthouse embarks on an Evangelism 101 training as we learn practical ways to evangelize and live out our faith. The next few weeks are going to be very exciting as we enter a fresh season of intentional and radical evangelism. We exhort everyone to get involved and do your own share, whether big or small, direct or direct, personal or collective - to compel the lost to come to Christ. We must open our mouths. We must declare and demonstrate. The harvest is ready. The harvest is plentiful.
