Deuteronomy 8:1 Be careful to follow every command I am giving you today, so that you may live and increase and may enter and possess the land that the LORD promised on oath to your forefathers.
The Lord has a “Promise Land” for you! In general, it is the life of favor, freedom, and joy that is found in Jesus Christ. In particular, it will look different for different people. It covers more than one area of our lives. It is the beautiful life we enjoy through Christ where we also serve the Lord and his gospel. Not every person is able to enter their Promise Land from God. This is sad, and it’s certainly not the will of God. Some are able to enter the Promise Land of God for them, but are not able to remain in it and possess it fully. The enemies in the new land are not defeated, so they become the thorn on the sides of the Christian. Not fully able to conquer the Promise Land, the experience is only partial victory and blessing- partial breakthrough, partial abundance, incomplete joy, and the like. But it is possible to truly enter and possess one’s Promise Land from God. The goal of the message today is to help us fully conquer and enjoy the abundant life that God wants us to have. Be ready to be reminded of some important foundational truths which are so essential in living the lives God wants you and I to have. More than the knowing is the doing of the essential things so that we get the blessings intended by God for us. Renew your mind, change your heart, and prepare your life.
