Defeating Disappointment – Part II
Unfulfilled expectations. Unexpected losses. Uncaring people. Disloyal friends. Unforeseen problems. The list can go on. We’re not being negative when we recognize these things. We’re simply being realistic and truthful.
But as negative as some of those phrases may sound to some people, they don’t necessarily have to rob you and me of a joyful and victorious Christian life! The Bible clearly says that part of the whole package of life in a broken world is disappointment (pain, sorrow, loss, and other saddening situations). But the Bible also says that you and I can be victorious inspite of what may come our way. This is not wishful thinking, but the true promise of God to his children!
Are you going through some trials today? Are there troubles in the home or boarding house? Is there sickness that threatens to rob you of your hope in God? Are there people who keep draining you of strength and joy, and you find it hard to rise above the provocation or irritation that they cause you?
Cheer up! There’s strength and victory for you. God’s power can abound in your life when you are weak. Trust in the Lord. Follow his teachings in the Bible. Relate with positive and life-giving people. Tap into the limitless and superior power of God as you face your disappointing situations. You will defeat disappointment! Some of those situations will go. Others will change for the better. Still others may stay, but you will be stronger and more positive! Thus, you can face them, and they will no longer have the same overwhelming power over you. You will win over your saddening situations!
The joy of the Lord is your strength! Receive joy from the Lord today. And peace and help and answers to prayer. Plus much more. The Lord loves you! He is waiting for you to come so he can help you. Call on him through prayer. Trust in him. Obey him. You will see a change in your life. The Lord is good. Blessed are those who trust in him!
Enjoy God’s goodness in your life today!
