Defeating Disappointment

One of the realities of life is disappointments. There are many things that turn out to be less than what we desired or expected them to be. Some people let us down. We face situations that bring sadness to our lives. Yet as followers of Christ, we are called to lead lives marked by faith, courage, confidence, and joy. We are to reach out until the gospel of God’s rule (kingdom) on earth is proclaimed in the whole world. Where and how do we find the strength and courage to move on with confidence when we also experience some downers in our lives? The answer is in the wonderful person called God and in his message to man contained in a book called the Bible. As we seek God and explore the book he gave- the Bible- we will find the answers to our questions and needs. God loves you and wants you to lead lives that are marked by his righteousness, peace, and joy. The Bible contains the commands and principles that will help you and me defeat disappointment. Do you feel sad or low today? Are you defeated by some disappointing situation at home, in the office, at school, or in your business? Are there people who somehow tend to steal joy from your life? The Lord Jesus said that you and I will face troubles in life. But the story does not end there. He says that we can be happy because he has won the victory and we can win too because of him (John 16:33). Receive a faith uplift from the Lord today. Receive a boost for your spirit. God will come and save/help you. You can defeat disappointments because of God’s love and power.
