Psalm 136:1 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love lasts forever.
In a few days, we will enter a new year. But before we do, it is good to express gratitude to the Lord for the many blessings of 2019. For some, your expectations may not have been met, but some disappointments may be providential. But even if some of them are not, you certainly have received many good things from the Lord. The fact that you are still alive and have hope for a better future is reason enough to thank God. But for many, the year 2019 has been a wonderful year. It’s been a year of answered prayers, reaping of good things we sowed, promotion, expansion, and more. It’s not perfect, but we’re grateful to the Lord for his great mercy and faithfulness. So we pause today to acknowledge the greatness and goodness of God. We take time to be grateful. It’s a good thing to do. It’s the right thing to do. Praising God for his kindness and power not only honors God but also brings joy to us. So let’s do that today. May deep gratitude to the Lord for his goodness fill our hearts and overflow in praises and thanksgiving to the Lord not just today, but each day of our lives. The Lord richly bless you.
