John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Final. It’s so definitive. When it is in the positive, it can be great news! But when it is in the negative, it can be so tragic! A final job performance evaluation that yielded a good rating can result to salary increase or promotion. A final awards & bids committee declaration of winner can be great news, especially if the contract price is large. On the other hand, a final grade in school that is below 75 means failure. One does not make it. Or a final court case ruling by the Supreme Court can mean lifetime imprisonment or loss. In our lives, we are also making decisions that will determine our final destination. Whether we are aware of it or not, we are making choices that shape our eternal existence. You and I are eternal beings. We will live forever. But the question is, “Where?” Every human being will either enjoy forever with God and wonderful people in an unbelievably beautiful place called “heaven”, or will suffer terribly in a dark and cursed world called “hell”. Because you and I, like all other human beings, have broken God’s law, we deserve to be punished forever in hell. Justice demands it. The good things we have done cannot cancel the unrighteous things we are guilty of. But God made a way where there was no way. He sent his One and Only Son, Jesus Christ, to take our place and be punished for our sins. His death on our behalf makes it possible for those who surrender the control of their lives to him and trust in him to be forgiven and be made new. If you turn away from sin and turn over the leadership of your life to Jesus Christ, you will become a child of God and a citizen of heaven. Even while alive on this present earth, you have the certainty that your final destination is heaven. You will enjoy forever with God in the eternal Paradise. May God’s rich blessings be on you and your family today and always! Lathur Badoy
