Flourishing Through the Seasons of Life
LATEST SUNDAY WORD
In the natural realm of life, we have seasons. In our country, we have dry and wet seasons. In other parts of the world, they have winter, spring, summer, and fall. With the changing of the seasons come physical conditions that cause plant and animal life to flourish or fail.
There are also seasons in the spiritual realm of life. There can be “dry” times as well as “wet” times (when there’s water that nurtures life and cause life to grow). The changing of the seasons affect us too. But unlike plant and animal life, we humans have a superior ability to survive and even flourish even when the physical conditions may be harsh or tough.
The child of God has an even greater ability to cope and even flourish regardless of the season at hand. The experiences of the people of God as recorded in the Old Testament Scriptures and New Testament Scriptures testify to this. The Lord has given many promises in the Scriptures that his people can and will do well even when they go through a difficult time. Psalm 1:3, Psalm 37:19, and Ezekiel 47:2 are just some of these
promises.
Cheer up, follower of Christ! You are victorious through every season. You can do well inspite of the “realities” around you. Stay closely connected with your source, the Lord himself. You will never fail if you are drawing from God’s unfailing resources. You may get hurt, stressed out, or stumble some times. But you will bounce back and come out stronger and better through Jesus Christ.
