True followers of Christ will desire to tell others about Him and what He’s done in their lives. Sharing our faith isn’t just a suggestion, it is a command. And God is with us when we obey Him. Listen to this empowering message from Ps Lathur Badoy entitled GO AND TELL THEM!
1. Understand the Good News of Salvation that people need to hear
Christ is the only way. It is only through Jesus Christ that we can be forgiven, be saved by grace and receive the promise of eternal life (John 14:6; Romans 10:9-10; Acts 4:31)
"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12
"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved-you and your household." Acts 16:31
And he did not permit him but said to him, "Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you. " Mark 5:19
2. People will be separated from God forever if they don't hear the good news of salvation.
For the apostles there was fire burning inside them to share what God had done. (Acts 4:20; 2 Corinthians 5:14-15; Acts 4:12)
D.I. Moody, " I see people going to hell without Jesus. Until you see people like that, you will not lead them to Christ."
3. You and I are expected by God to tell others about the Good News of Salvation
The Lord reminds us of our PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. Who is responsible to reach others? You are. I am (Matthew 28:19-20)
Evangelism is telling others about the Lord Jesus, our need of him, and how we can find forgiveness in him.
Evangelism can mean talking to people we take advantage of every opportunity to help lost people find God.
Of course, we need to watch our testimony for the Lord. Because if we have a weak testimony, our effectiveness is weakened significantly. (Acts 5:42)
In Luke 19:10, the Lord Jesus was saying, "I come to seek and save the lost". And He challenges us to do the same.
However, to do that, we need to overcome 2 big obstacles - FEAR and APATHY. And we can, by God's grace!
