God is great!

The world has seen the rise of great men and women. They did heroic things. They conquered, had fame, power, or riches. But their glory did not last. They were either overthrown, replaced, overshadowed by new “heroes”, or outshone by some new strong leader. Their lights shone brightly for a while, but they faded. These great men and women are now largely forgotten, except in the history books. On the other hand, God is truly great! His greatness is far superior than any human. His fame, power, and riches never end. His glory shines through all creation. The brightness of the light of his being never fades away. The LORD is truly great. No one compares to him. He is God and there is no one else. It is our awesome privilege to worship and serve him. It is a deep mystery and great honor for us, humans who believe in Jesus, to be called God’s sons and daughters. Lord, you are great! We worship you today. You are infinitely worthy of trust. We offer you our lives. We are your sons as well as your servants. May we live our lives in a way that honors you. May you receive from us the praise that you so rightly deserve.
