Acts 13:2 While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” 3 So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.
Living for Christ is supposed to be exciting, thrilling, and very satisfying! But if we don’t live it the way it is designed by no other than the Lord himself, then we can have a sub-par experience. We can get bored, and things can get very predictable, even dry or unsatisfying. Yet following Christ is a very exciting life – if we live God’s way. And at the heart of the excitement is in living for a purpose that is much bigger than our little lives and for an agenda that will outlast us on this present earth. There is much thrill in taking some risks for God and in attempting to accomplish things that some say are impossible. There is deep and lasting satisfaction in giving of ourselves to see people’s lives change. If you are a follower of Jesus, you are automatically involved in an eternal army of God for the salvation of people and the transformation of communities, cities, and nations. You are part of God’s strike force for mission. This is super exciting. You and I fulfill different roles. We have different duties and contributions. But each one of us is a needed and important part of the team. When we all do our roles, we will get the job done with much speed and effectiveness. May today’s talk and event stir you up and raise you to become the productive and powerful contributor God wants you to be for mission. Stand up, take your place, man your post. Welcome to God’s strike force for mission. May the Lord richly bless you and your family! Lathur Badoy
