Growing and Gaining Through the Testings of God (Part 3)
1 Peter 1:6 - 7 In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
The tough and hard experiences of life don’t have to shock or defeat you if you are ready for them. Preparation makes all the difference. Today, we will talk about the third and final part of our series of discussions on Gaining and Growing through the Testings of God. The goal of the study is to prepare you and me to face the tests of life so that we can benefit from them instead of suffer from them.
In school or professional examinations, we can succeed if we are ready. Companies can pass rigid and strict quality standard inspections if they are prepared. Any test or measurement can be passed if we prepare adequately for them.
The Lord, in his goodness, has given you and me the instruction, encouragement, and power we need to be ready to face any tests in life. This doesn’t mean that we will not feel the pressure or be affected by the things that happen to us. As normal human beings, we will feel the impact of life’s tests on our minds, emotions, bodies, etc. But just as our humanity is real, so God’s supernatural grace to help us is real. We can count on God to help us as we face life’s tough experiences. God will bring you through the dry seasons and nourish you in your spirit so that you will make it through and become better through the process. All the resources of heaven are available through prayer as you seek to honor God while going through trials.
What tests in life are you going through right now? How are you doing as you face those tests? Do not give up. Do not be discouraged. Strengthen your faith in God. Because you are prepared in mind and heart to face the tests that God sends or allows, you can overcome them with God’s enablement.
God’s joy and peace be yours! And may your family experience God’s overflowing presence today and this week!
