HAPPY 11th YEAR ANNIVERSARY, LIGHTHOUSE!
Psalm 136:1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good. His love endures forever. 2 Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures forever. 3 Give thanks to the Lord of lords: His love endures forever. 4 to him who alone does great wonders, His love endures forever.....26 Give thanks to the God of heaven. His love endures forever.
HAPPY 11TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY, LIGHTHOUSE! Today, we celebrate God’s great faithfulness to us. This church began 11 years ago in the living room of the house where Pastor Leah and I, together with our 1 year-old son Paul, lived. The Lord has so graciously blessed our efforts to honor him and expand his kingdom. Today we are a church of a few thousand members/attenders, and growing.
For those who were not part of the first few years of Lighthouse, just a little trivia: Do you know that our first name was “Lighthouse Family Church”? It was shortened to “Lighthouse Church” after that. But our name was changed to “Lighthouse Christian Fellowship”, and has stayed the same since then.
Today, we LOOK BACK and see how great God is and how awesome his workings are! From a life group that met in the sala of our house, we moved to a small coffee shop in Juna Subdivision, then to a hotel function room, followed by renting a floor of a building in Anda Street. Then we moved to what is now our office and training place across People’s Park, followed by gathering for worship celebrations on the 6th floor of the Gaisano South Corporate Building, and still later to Cinema 1 of Victoria Plaza. Finally so far, we are here in our comfortable home at former Cinema 6 in Victoria Plaza Mall. Each move was necessitated by the Lord bringing more people into the spiritual family. Now we are here with three worship celebrations every Sunday. God has been gracious, strong, and faithful toward us!
But today, we also LOOK FORWARD to the coming years! And we do so with great anticipation because God who was mighty toward us in the past will continue to be powerful for us. We expect even better years ahead because God will surely complete what he has began in us (Philippians 1:6). Our strength, abilities, and resources are limited. But God is limitless, and his power is made available for us as we honor him and seek to expand his rule on the earth through our ministries.
Our theme for this year is SUPERNATURAL: Unveiling and Releasing God’s Ever-Increasing Glory! Today, let’s expect to receive a fresh anointing of the supernatural in our life as a church. The next twelve months, let us be assured of a steady and limitless supply of God’s miracle-working power in our lives and ministries!
So let’s celebrate and rejoice! Let’s give thanks and praise to the Lord from whom all blessings come! Lord, for all that you’ve done so far, and all that you will yet do, we say, “Thank you so much.” To you belongs all the praises, glory, and honor! We love you dearly!
