HAPPY NEW YEAR
Dear Lighthouse family:
HAPPY NEW YEAR! Today we celebrate the beginning of a brand new year. There are new hopes, new promises, new directions, and many new possibilities. For those who feel that 2019 was a bad year, the Lord is giving you a new beginning, a fresh new start. For those who had a great 2019, the Lord is inviting you to greater heights in your relationship with him and a greater conquest in the different areas of your life.
As always, the Lord is calling us to make our lives acceptable and pleasing to him as we start a new year. First things first, and the proper posture of the heart is crucial. Let us remove the idols and defilements in our lives. Idols are things or people we put our trust or joy in instead of God. Our elevation of those things and people as the primary sources of our security and happiness is the essence of idolatry, and we should repent of that.
Defilements are unholy habits, practices, relationships, and anything that makes us impure in the eyes of God. They may be in the areas of entertainment, social media consumption, romantic attractions, and others. Because we love God and people, let us do away with these.
Please attend our 3 NIGHTS OF FIRE this week. Try to attend all of them, if that were possible. Let us seek God seriously and receive from him cleansing, healing, empowerment, guidance, and much more. This is a great investment of time, not a waste of time.
Today is Day 1 of our 21-Day Prayer and Fasting season for 2020. Choose a kind of fast that works for you. For many people, it is giving up a meal like breakfast and spending the time used to prepare, eat, and clean up after that meal to pray. Together with your daily devotional time with God, your prayer with fasting is a powerful declaration that you're serious with God this 2020. The Lord will bless you for praying and fasting.
Your Pastors,
Lathur and Leah Badoy
