“Holy Ambitions” – Dreams that Matter

A dream is an aspiration, a cherished hope or desire that may or may not be attainable. An ambition on the other hand is a strong desire or determination to achieve success, power, or recognition in a particular endeavor. SELFISH AMBITIONS: James 3:16 Galatians 5:19-21 Philippians 2:3-4 " Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others." THE DANGER OF SELFISH AMBITIONS
  1. People sacrifice their character to get what they want.
  2. People are drawn to use and mistreat others to reach their dream.
  3. Selfish ambitions can cause Christians to violate and compromise their faith.
  4. The need to win and succeed is greater than the need to love.
  5. Selfishness moves you to compare yourself with others.
  6. Selfish people take the credit and feel entitled for the success that comes their way.
  7. If unchecked, selfish ambition turns servants of God into servants of themselves.
HOLY AMBITIONS - Holy ambition is the strong desire to live for God's glory and fulfill His plan. EIGHT Principles Successful Dreamers Must Live By
  1. You must have a DREAM!!! (Proverbs 29:18)
  2. You must have BIG DREAMS!!! (Matthew 9:29)
  3. Our dreams must GLORIFY THE LORD. (1 Corinthians 10:31)
  4. You must DO SOMETHING about your God-given dreams (James 2:26)
  5. Your dreams will be tested - DON'T GIVE UP EASILY (Habakkuk 2:2-3)
  6. The pursuit of your dreams must develop CHRISTLIKE CHARACTER in you.
  7. God must be FIRST in all things. (Matthew 6:33)
  8. Always GIVE GOD THE GLORY for the fulfillment of your dreams.
TWO Holy Ambitions from the Bible that we can live by for 2024
  1. To live a quiet life. 1 Thessalonians 4:11 "And to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you."
  2. To make Jesus known. Romans 2:20 "It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else's foundation."

THIS 2024, LETS MAKE IT OUR HOLY AMBITION TO PREACH THE GOSPEL AND MAKE JESUS KNOWN.
