Matthew 6:19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.”
Rich before God. That is God’s will for you and me. I’m not referring to having lots of cash, real properties, stock investments, or other earthly assets, though that is also good. Rather, I’m talking about wealth that is spiritual and heavenly. These assets are very real, and will last forever. In fact, they are more real than the physical or visible wealth we are familiar with. Sad to say, not all believers are rich before God! Many are so absorbed with earthly pursuits that they never invest seriously in eternal things. They may be rich with earthly things, but they are poor as far as heavenly things are concerned. This is sad, even tragic. Earthly wealth will be destroyed. We will lose them all or leave them behind, sooner or later. But eternal riches will last forever. And the interest (increase) rate for eternal things is outrageously high compared to earthly investments. It is foolish to think only of earthly assets and income and neglect eternal assets and “income”. When you obey the Lord and do what he says, you are investing in heaven. And the more you invest in the things of God, the more wealth you accumulate in heaven. You are becoming rich before God with wealth that will never fade away or be lost. In a few weeks, we will launch Cycle 4 of our exciting campaign, EACH ONE CHANGE ONE (E1C1). We encourage each member of the Lighthouse family to invest in this eternal project. Each One Change One is our thrilling campaign where each one will make it his/her ambition and personal project for God to win and follow up at least one person to the Lord for a period of two to three months. This person may be a family member, a friend, a classmate, a fellow employee or business partner. Each One Change One is easy and doable. Anyone can succeed in this, especially as we do this together. As we say around here, “Team work makes the dream work.” When each of us shares the gospel to at least one person and help that person grow in his/her relationship with God, we are investing in eternity. We are becoming rich before God. These are the assets that will last forever. Unseen wealth is being accumulated for us in heaven. We will be rich, truly rich, in God’s eyes. Lathur Badoy
