2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
Dear Lighthouse family, We welcome you with much joy to our Regathering worship celebration this weekend! It’s such a joy to see the spiritual family worshipping the Lord together. What a blessing when God’s people actually come together to fellowship, hear God’s word, and pray. We are still very much into the corona crisis season. Many jobs have been lost, businesses closed, and youth, children, and older people are locked inside their houses. We are feeling the impact of these things in our lives. We are seeking to overcome or at least survive, but there does not seem to be a big expectation that things are about to change in a major way very soon. Perhaps we need to see a very important factor that many may have overlooked through the present corona crisis. And this has to do with the idea that we are not yet seeing a major shift because we have not yet dealt with the things that we need to deal with as far as God is concerned. When we see that God is absolutely holy, righteous, and just, and that the church and society as well has sinned seriously before God, then we can realize that there may be in the present crisis an element of God’s judgment or discipline. For sure God is loving and kind, but he is also holy and righteous. The Holy Scriptures and the history of humanity clearly show that God judges people for their sins. When judgment comes, we do well to repent from our evil ways so that we honor God and the healing we desire can happen. The Lord says that when his people humble themselves and pray, and seek his face and turn from their wicked ways, he will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. May we all do this today and the days ahead so that the merciful hand of God may come to us in healing and restoration. May the Lord richly bless you, your family, and your ministry! With love and prayers, Pastors Lathur and Leah Hope Badoy
