Keep the flame burning
An advertisement for a major ice cream brand some years ago carried this line, “When somebody loves, it’s no good unless he loves you all the way”. It’s true for human relationships, such as in marriage. And it is certainly true of our relationship with the Lord. A lukewarm love for God is not good enough for him.
The Lord wants you and me to keep the fire of our love for him burning always. It’s supposed to burn all the time. The Lord is pleased when we love him passionately. He is satisfied when we keep our relationship with him as the primary concern of our lives.
Today, we will look at compelling reasons why you and I should keep the flame of love for God burning in our hearts. We will examine some symptoms that help us see if our passion for the Lord is not burning consistently. And, of course, we will look at some things we can do so that the priority of loving God is maintained in our lives.
Whatever situation you may find yourself in today, know that the Lord wants to bless your life. He will bless you as you come to him in trust, respect, and surrender. Receive a blessing from God for your life today!
