Let’s Prepare and Do the Work of God While There is Time
John 9:4 We must do the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.
Dear Lighthouse family:
The events so far this year 2020 have included some difficult or scary things. The Taal Volcano eruption, some earthquakes, and especially the 2019 new corona virus have caused some disruption, stress, and fears. As of the writing of this letter (February 14 noontime), the number of new corona virus cases and deaths have been increasing and a third death outside China has been registered in Japan.
Though we should not panic, we should certainly prepare. We should prepare not just for a possible occurrence of confirmed new corona virus cases in the cities where we live or work, but for other events that can possibly happen in the near or not so distant future. Even if the new corona virus is effectively contained (though there are signs that the threat of it spreading is still so real), there are other dangers that are coming. Because of man’s pride and rebellion against God, man will continue to do evil things and the world’s problems will worsen. Because of man’s disobedience against God’s clear commands and principles, man, as the one given by God the privilege of leading the physical creation of the earth and the skies, has brought a curse on creation, thus we have natural calamities.
God’s original creation and plan are beautiful. But man messed things up when he decided to live in deliberate disobedience to his Creator and God. God will punish sin and sinners. His judgments will come on the earth. It is part of saving his beautiful creation that is now corrupted, and, more especially, it is to save his people who are caught in this broken world because of the actions of sinful people.
So we don’t have much time left to do the work of God. We must now give our lives fully to the Lord, and exert our very best efforts to proclaim his message of salvation to as many as possible- both near and far. We must stop being so engrossed in the things of this world, and invest more in eternal things. Let’s do the work of God while there is time.
Your Pastors,
Lathur and Leah Badoy
