And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.
Acts 4:31
You have a story that is worth telling! If you have found the Treasure, who is the Lord Jesus Christ and a living relationship with him, you have something that is of great value. In a world of spiritual darkness and hopelessness, you have a message that so many people around you desperately need. Their lives are being destroyed and are headed in wrong and dangerous directions because they don’t know the one, big answer to their deepest questions and needs.
Loving God also involves being concerned about the lives of people that God created in his image and with a plan to make them his beloved children. Loving people includes telling people about something that they desperately need though they may not even be aware yet that it’s what they’ve been looking for. The good news of Jesus Christ coming to earth, giving his life for the sins of people, and, having resurrected and returned to heaven, now offering a living relationship with God is the news that people need to hear. So speak it because you love God and you care for the people that God cares for.
Studies have shown that many followers of Christ are not sharing their faith. This is not God’s will. And one of the biggest reasons is they are afraid. They are afraid of being rejected, of making mistakes, and of being labelled as “fools” or “religious fanatics”. So they keep the good news to themselves instead of sharing it to others.
Today, we want to break free from fear so we can start to share the good news to people. We will look at five simple but very powerful things you and I can do to overcome our shyness and fear, and give people heaven’s medicine that will cure their lives (the gospel). As you open your heart to God today, you will be set free from fear and you will become a courageous witness of what Christ can do to change broken human people into whole and joyful Christ-followers.
God’s rich blessings on your life and family today!
