A popular ice cream advertisement some years ago had a line that became quite famous during that time. The line went this way: “When somebody loves you, it’s no good unless he loves you all the way.”
There are many things that we can take casually. Unless you are very particular with brands or some distinctive features of some products, it really does not matter much what particular label you buy or use. There are many competing brands that offer nearly identical quality or features. One can be almost as happy with one brand as with another (in the majority of cases, at least).
But love is different! Friendships are good only if they are loyal, passionate, and consistent. Marriage is exhilarating if the husband and the wife are both giving of themselves fully to the relationship. If one holds back, the marriage suffers in quality. Quoting the line we mentioned earlier, “When somebody loves you, it’s no good unless he loves you all the way.”
Our relationship with God should be governed by the same principle, but on a higher level. We are given the privilege of being loved by this awesome being called God, and we have the pleasure of loving God back. Since our physical lives come from God, along with all the blessings that we enjoy as human beings, it is but natural for us to love God in return. And because our spiritual lives are given by God our Savior, guaranteeing a wonderful inheritance with Christ in the new heavens and new earth that’s coming, how can we not fall in love with God?
Loving God as the first priority of our lives is our calling! It is our privilege! Yet many of us have forgotten this. Some have neglected it. There are even Christians who have rejected the idea of loving God as the primary occupation of life. But this is your purpose! It is your life! Today, the Lord wants to give you a spiritual impartation so that you can love him passionately, completely, and as the first priority of your life.
There’s a blessing for you and your family today! Open your heart and receive it in Jesus’ name!
