Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
Can a person be busy in ministry, but not be spiritually fruitful? Can a church be occupied with many valid but second-priority type of ministries instead of focusing on the primary ones? Can people be more absorbed with using abilities and giftings instead of making sure that there are real and measurable results for the gospel ministry? Sadly, the answer to the foregoing questions is “Yes”. It’s possible for a Christian or church to miss out on the most important things as far as serving God is concerned.
Today, we want to look at the high-priority ministries that the Lord has commanded His people to do and see how we can seek to fulfill them. In connection with that, we want to see how we can prioritize properly because there are other valid, though second-priority-type of, ministries that Christians and churches also need to take care of. It’s not a matter of “either this or that”, but, rather, what we should emphasize or prioritize as we seek to do what God commands.
The spiritual harvest is plentiful, but the workers are comparatively few. God is, therefore, calling his people to respond to his command to serve, and chief of these commands is to win souls and make disciples. So let’s give our very best to tell people everywhere about the Lord. Let’s build God’s kingdom near and far. Let the Great Commission be our priority as we serve the Lord.
Whatever your need or situation may be today, the Lord has a blessing for you! Open your heart to him. Trust him. Obey him. He will bless your life like no one and nothing else can.
God’s rich blessings on your life, family, and ministry today!
