Luke 16:10 “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. 11 So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?”
What verb (action word) comes to your mind when you think of money? For the vast majority of people, the associated action word to “money” is “spend”. That thinking is understandable, but it is incorrect and dangerous! Today, let’s talk about finances and how they are to be handled. We have as our teacher the man who is talked about as the wisest man who ever lived - King Solomon of ancient Israel. He wrote most of the Proverbs as well as Ecclesiastes that are now part of the Holy Scriptures. In addition, we will also consider words from Paul, the apostle, as well as other writers of the Bible. I’m very grateful to God that you and I do not need to grope in darkness about how to manage the money we are entrusted with so that we please God. The Bible contains the best financial management advice in literature. No other book gives ideas that are as wise, tested, and reliable as the Bible. We are blessed to be talking today about how to handle money as taught in the Bible. How are you financially today? Are you enjoying the sweet fruits of wise financial management? Or are you eating the sour fruits of foolish financial choices in the past? There is something for everyone today! Some things we will talk about may be more of reminders to some people, but they will be good reminders. Other things we will discuss may be new or challenging, but learning them and applying them will result to better financial health and greater financial freedom! The Lord wants you to be well in every area of your life, including finances! Aside from the positively life-altering teaching from God’s Word, you will also receive an impartation of help from God’s Spirit as you open your heart to him during the time of prayer. Be blessed today! Lathur Badoy
