Life is all about the choices we make. If we make the right choice, the God-honoring choice, then God will bless us. But if we make the wrong choices, it can have a lasting and permanent impact on our lives. Let the word of God bring direction and revelation as you learn about RIGHT NEEDS, WRONG PROVISION, NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES shared by Ps Lathur Badoy. Be blessed!
We have valid needs
The Lord provides all of our valid or true needs (Matthew 6:31-33) - The Lord doesn't promise to give us our wants - the things that we desire, but don't really need (1 Corinthians 6:12-13; 1 Timothy 6:17)
We play a part in the provision of our needs - God's blessing gives us the power to succeed. But we still need to work (Deuteronomy 8:17-18)
We can try to meet our needs in godly ways or ungodly ways. In the provision of our needs, we also have a part to play. And in playing our part, we exercise our will (or the ability to decide to ourselves). When we use our free will, we can use it to make choices that are godly or that are ungodly. (Jeremiah 2:13)
Two examples of meeting the right needs the wrong way
Example 1: Esau (Genesis 27:37-39)
Be very careful how you satisfy your hunger - whether a hunger for food, or sex, or peace/relaxation
If you satisfy them in wrong or ungodly ways, you can end up losing much... Sin is very deceptive
Choose godliness. Sin is never worth it (Hebrews 12:16-17)
Example 2: A Samaritan woman (John 4:18)
Be careful that you don't seek for love in the wrong places and with the wrong people. Pursue love in a close relationship with God. Be faithful in your daily time with God, soak in the Word of God and in the presence of God through worship.
Develop nourishing relationship within the spiritual family (church). Join a life group. Be active in a life group. Volunteer for one of our support or secondary ministries. The Lord wants to remind us that he is the ultimate provider of all our emotional needs.
To a woman, the Lord is your husband who really loves you and cares for you. (Isaiah 54:5)
To the child who doesn't feel loved by his father or mother, the Lord is your Father. (Psalm 68:5; Psalms 27:10)
To the lonely, God gives a family (Psalms 68:6)
In the end, what you feel you do not receive from people at certain seasons of your life, God is able to give to you (John 4:13-14; Isaiah 58:11)
There is no need to try to MEET RIGHT NEEDS IN WRONG WAYS because the LORD PROMISES to MEET ALL OUR NEEDS (Psalms 23:1; Philippians 4:19)
