Sharing Life in A Dying World
When we watch the news on TV, listen to it on radio, or read it on newspapers, we cannot help but see marks of death (absence of life) everywhere! Though there are some good things that are happening in our world, the prevalence of lack and death is very difficult to miss. We are living in a dying world. Wars, economic woes, political scandals, family break ups, and personal struggles and tragedies abound.
Thankfully, there is good news that is available in Jesus Christ. And we, the church, carry this good news that meets all the desperate needs of our broken world. As the body (manifestation) of Christ on the earth, we who follow Jesus have the awesome privilege and solemn responsibility of giving to others the truth that will bring life to their dying lives.
If I were in a very desperate situation, I would be forever grateful if a person will go out of his/her comfort zone and disrupt his schedule in order to give me something that will save my life. The same is also true spiritually. Many people are dying because they don’t have knowledge of and a right relationship with God. Your “sacrifice” to reach out to them could be the very thing that will save and change their lives forever.
So be willing to take time to share the good news to others. There’s hope and life that is available through Jesus Christ. Let’s share life- true life, abundant life, eternal life- to people in our dying world.
