Standing Strong and Victorious Against Spiritual Attacks
Ephesians 6:11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (NIV)
The Lord has great plans for his creation! He wants the heavens and the earth to be a place where his glory shines as people enjoy abundant and eternal lives. His plans are amazingly wonderful. He wants to live with us in a world of perfect righteousness, peace, and joy.
But the devil does not want God’s good and glorious plans to be realized on earth. He opposes God’s work. And he seeks to destroy God’s beloved people. He is evil in his intentions and in his ways. He wants to steal from God’s people, kill them or their future, and destroy them.
Today we want to talk about a reality that all people face: Satan’s attacks and attempts to harm or destroy us. His ways are varied. They are not always obviously evil or harmful, but behind his strategies is a burning hatred toward God and people whom God made in his image. This is even more true for those who have become God’s special people because of their faith in and surrender to Jesus Christ.
But there is no reason to be afraid! The Lord has made adequate provision for the protection and victory of his people. He has given them all the spiritual weapons that they need in the spiritual battle so that they will be safe and they can win. If you are under some form of spiritual attack right now, don’t despair. The Lord is able to make you stand mighty and triumphant.
Among the armaments that we need in the spiritual warfare are proper recognition of the real/ultimate enemy, knowing the true nature of the war, the use of powerful defensive weapons, and employing mighty offensive equipment of war. Today, we will talk about these things and seek to know which ones we have in place in our lives and which ones we have lost or still in place but are partially damaged or in bad condition. Our goal is to take an inventory and then respond by strengthening our defenses and weapons so we are protected and victorious when the devil attacks to try to harm or destroy us.
The Lord has a blessing for your every need! Believe, respond, and receive from him today! Enjoy!
