YOU CAN THRIVE INSPITE OF NEGATIVE CIRCUMSTANCES (Eph. 3:20; Col. 1:29; 2 Cor. 4:7 – 10)
HOW TO THRIVE INSPITE OF NEGATIVE CIRCUMSTANCES
- KNOW AND BELIEVE THAT GOD HAS A PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE. (Psalm 139:16b; 1 Corinthians 12:17-20; Genesis 37:5 – 11)
- BE ASSURED IN YOUR HEART THAT NOTHING AND NO ONE CAN PREVENT THE FULFILLMENT OF GOD’S PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE
Jealousy, misunderstanding, and betrayal even from family members cannot prevent God’s plan for you (Gen 37:4-28)
Temptation, intrigue, and imprisonment cannot stop God’s plan for your life (Genesis 39:1-33)
The failings of people cannot hinder God’s plan for your life (Genesis 40:1-23)
- LIVE A GODLY LIFE EVEN IF YOU ARE ALONE IN UNGODLY ENVIRONMENTS
Joseph was probably the only believer in the one true God in the household of Potiphar, but he stood strong and refused to sin (Gen. 39:6-20). Joseph may have been the only follower of the one true God in prison, but he refused to give up faith in God (Gen. 39:20- 41:1).
- TRUST UNWAVERINGLY THAT GOD IS IN CONTROL AND CAUSES ALL THINGS TO WORK TOGETHER FOR HIS PURPOSES AND YOUR OWN GOOD
There was jealousy, misunderstanding, violence, and betrayal even from family members (Genesis 37:4-28), but it was God’s way of bringing him to Egypt where he would fulfill God’s plan for him.
There was temptation, intrigue, and imprisonment (Genesis 39:1-33), but God was positioning him to reach no other than the pharaoh of Egypt.
There were failings of other people (Genesis 40:1-23), yet God had planned to use the very failings to fulfill God’s promise and plan at the right time. (Genesis 45: 4 - 8a; Genesis 50:19 - 21; Romans 8:28)
WHEN YOU THRIVE INSPITE OF NEGATIVE CIRCUMSTANCES, ACKNOWLEDGE THE GOODNESS OF GOD IN YOUR LIFE (Genesis 41:15 – 16; Genesis 41:37 – 40; Genesis 50:19 – 21)
