Hebrews 11:6 “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”
WHAT FAITH IS
- Faith is believing when I don’t see
Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”
- Faith is obeying when I don’t understand
Hebrews 11:8 “By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.”
- Faith is giving when I don’t have (2 Cor. 8:2-3)
Hebrews 11:4a “Because Abel had faith, he offered God a better sacrifice than Cain did. God was pleased with him and his gift.”
- Faith is persisting when I don’t feel like going on any more
Hebrews 11:27 “Faith led Moses to leave Egypt without being afraid of the king's anger. Moses didn't give up but continued as if he could actually see the invisible God.”
- Faith is thanking God before I receive the answer (Mark 11:24)
Hebrews 11:30 “By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they had been encircled for seven days.”
- Faith is trusting God if I don’t get what I asked (Hebrews 11:39; Ecclesiastes 3:1)
Habakkuk 3:17 Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, 18 yet I will rejoice in the LORD; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. 19 GOD, the Lord, is my strength….
