Why You Should Tell Others About the Lord
Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses..."
Telling others. This is a very positive thing if we have good news to share. If you found a great ongoing sale, you will most likely tell others about it. If you tried a new drug or treatment for a recurring physical problem, chances are you will speak to others about it, especially if you feel that your discovery and positive experience could help them. When you’ve finally found that special someone, you will joyfully share the news with people.
Telling others can also occur naturally in negative times as well. It is considered a very loving or good thing to inform people you care for of potential danger so they can be protected. For example, in the days that followed the bombing incident at Roxas Boulevard about a month ago, many of us received text messages, calls, and Facebook messages about places to avoid so we don’t endanger our lives.
In our spiritual lives, telling others should also be a positive and natural thing. When we receive an answer to prayer, we joyfully share it to our family or friends. When we are encouraged and empowered through our life group or worship gatherings, we tell others. This completes our joy, helps other people, and brings praise to God.
Beginning next Sunday, we will have 5 Change Sundays. These are power-packed, life-altering worship celebrations that are prepared so people who come can experience God and their lives will be changed. We are asking everyone in the Lighthouse family to attempt to bring at least one person to any of our three worship celebrations every Sunday for 5 Sundays. Ask the Lord to make you an instrument to bring a close friend, a family member, a classmate, a co-employee, or a business associate so that they can hear the Word of God, experience the power of God, and be with people who project hope in a hopeless world.
Tell others about the Lord. It’s easy, natural, and doable. Let’s do it.
