WHY YOUR LIFE GROUP NEEDS YOU

Each one of us will benefit greatly from active involvement in life groups. We can benefit others much as we share our lives together in life groups. We can help each other the most by following the “one anothers” of the Bible. Over 81 times, the phrase “one another” or “each other” is used in the New Testament. WHY YOUR LIFE GROUP NEEDS YOU

1. YOU HAVE LOVE THAT OTHERS NEED

• Too many people don’t get the acceptance they need. Someone here needs your love. They don’t need your condemnation – they need you to do what Jesus does. Love us like we are and help us walk the road toward being what we need to be. (Romans 15:7; 1 Peter 1:22)

2. YOU HAVE ABILITIES THAT CAN HELP OTHERS

• When we serve one another, we put their interests before our own. Jesus showed us how when he washed the feet of the disciples. (Galatians 5:13; 1 Peter 4:10) Alone, there are many things we cannot do. Together, there is nothing we cannot make it through 3. YOU HAVE KNOWLEDGE/WISDOM THAT CAN HELP OTHERS (Colossians 3:16; 1 Corinthians 14:3)

4. YOU HAVE STRENGTH THAT CAN LIFT UP OTHERS (Romans 14:19; Hebrews 10:24-25)

• Life gets busy. Life is hard. But if you have a church family, they can help. When the church is functioning like it should, there is someone to talk to when things go bad. If you truly connect yourself to a small group, you have the opportunity to make a difference in other’s lives by encouraging them when they need it most.

5. YOU HAVE CHARACTER/VALUES THAT CAN HELP OTHERS LIVE MORALLY AND SPIRITUALLY (Ephesians 4:25; Hebrews 3:13)

• It is not an easy thing to do this but sometimes, someone needs to hear in a loving, caring fashion that they need to turn from an area of sin in their lives. If we truly are going to love and accept one another, there are times where we’ll have to say something to someone because we love them so much we can’t stand by and watch them hurt themselves

6. YOU ARE A FRIEND THAT CAN COMFORT & BRING JOY TO OTHERS (1 Corinthians 6:20; 1 Thessalonians 5:11)

• Be friendly to others. Take your welcoming spirit to the next level. Don’t let that atmosphere slide – do it even better. Friendliness could mean the difference between a person becoming a Christ-follower or not. People need you. You have something that they don’t have. Join a life group, share your life there, and use your God-given capacities to bless others
