Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”
Faith is believing even when the thing believed in does not seem to be visible or discernible with the human senses. Faith is a spiritual thing. It operates largely in the unseen worlds even though it has manifestations in the visible and natural realms. It is, however, very real and very powerfully life-changing. The life of the Christ-follower is to be a life of faith. The Lord designed for you and me to function beyond just the human senses (sight, hearing, touch, etc). As the Bible says, “We live by faith not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7). Yes we use logic, but we know that life is bigger than logic, and some of the best things in life (like love) are not always logical. We use reason because we know that the Lord meant for it to be a guide and a protection for us to a significant extent. But the beauty, wonder, and glory of God’s creation, life, and spiritual experiences is that they can transcend human reason. The Bible is our guidebook in the life of faith. It shows us in very many and very powerful ways what it means to believe God and follow him in the various aspects and seasons of our lives. When you believe God within the parameters of the revealed will of God, the Bible, you are protected and blessed. Now that you have received a living relationship with God through Jesus Christ, you need to grow in a life of faith. The spiritual life is reasonable to a very significant extent. But God’s ways are not always understandable by finite human minds. And spiritual things must be perceived through spiritual means, not fleshly means or by means of human senses alone (1 Corinthians 2:13). Miracles are by nature “illogical” based on ‘laws of nature’ as the fallen mind understands it. But in the mind of God, a miracle is as natural as any other thing. This we can grasp, receive, and enjoy only by faith, and not by any other way. The Lord said to doubting Thomas, “...Stop doubting and believe....Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” (John 20:27,29). He says the same thing to you and me today. So let the Lord set you free from anything that hinders the full release of faith. Receive the words of God, believe them, and envision yourself as experiencing them. With the help of the Holy Spirit, soar high in the Spirit, claim spiritual birthright and blessings, and live in the rich provision of God for your needs. Grow in your faith by using it (like muscle grows when you use it). You will be glad if you do! Lathur Badoy
