Psalm 100:1 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. 2 Serve the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. 3 Know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture. 4 Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. 5 For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.
Dear Lighthouse family members and guests, the year 2018 will close by midnight tomorrow. We all experienced it differently because we have different situations in life as well as seasons of life that we are presently in to. But it is safe to say that regardless of how much or little our actual experiences may seem to have conformed to our expectations, we have many things to be thankful for. Some people may question the idea of us having many reasons to thank God for, but the idea is nonetheless very true. Just the fact that we are still alive and reading this short letter is reason enough to be thankful. Being alive means that there is, at least, a possibility that things will change for the better. And if we can believe it, there is certainly so much reason to hope and believe for bad things to change for the better. There are so many things we take for granted and are no longer grateful to the Lord for, but they are real reasons to thank God for. We have houses to live in, food to eat every meal time, fresh clothes to wear every single day, bodies that are able to work or do things, family and friends that care for us, and much more. Not every human being has those things. Even if you don’t like your job, be thankful that you have one because so many people don’t have work and, therefore, have no money to pay for their needs and to enjoy some of their desires. If you are a child of God and citizen of heaven as shown by your continuing obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ, then you have very many reasons to thank and praise God for. Receiving the forgiveness of sins and having God answer your prayers are like “jackpot” prizes already. Add to them the protection of God, God’s favor on the works of your hands, his glorious work of transforming your life so you become more like Jesus Christ in your character & behavior, and your joyful anticipation of rich eternal rewards in heaven because you serve God, and much more. So rejoice and give thanks and praise to the Lord who is so good to you. Let’s thank and praise the Lord today and always. With love and prayers, Lathur Badoy
