THE THREE PHASES OF EARTH’S HISTORY - The original heaven or Paradise was on earth. But when man rebelled against God, heaven separated from earth. But at the renewal of all things, heaven will come down to earth.
THE INTERMEDIATE HEAVEN IS IN THE HEAVENS (SKIES) BUT THE ETERNAL HEAVEN WILL BE ON EARTH - The Intermediate (Present/Temporary) Heaven (Rev. 4:1-11)
Implication of the Intermediate heaven being in the heavenly realms: strong or dominant spiritual nature of activities (worship, prayer, etc.)
The Eternal (Future/Final) Heaven (Revelation 21:1-4)
Implication of the eternal heaven being on earth: stronger “earthly” components (fulfilling work, relationships and friendships, and the like)
- GOD WILL CLEANSE AND RESTORE ALL OF CREATION (2 Peter 3:10-13; 1 Corinthians 15:50-54; Romans 8:19-23; Revelation 21:1-5)
The purpose of the cleansing and restoration of all creation is the removal of sin and its destructive effects on creation.
- AS THE ORIGINAL AND PRESENT EARTH ARE REAL EARTH, SO THE NEW (RENEWED) EARTH WILL BE REAL EARTH - Our eternal home will be a real home where we will enjoy real life with God and those who love and obey him. Our lives will be real lives composed of living in houses, having friends, eating foods, working, with jokes and laughter, traveling to places, and the like.
- EVERYTHING THAT WAS ON THE ORIGINAL EARTH AND THAT IS ON THE PRESENT EARTH THAT IS NOT SINFUL BY ITSELF WILL VERY POSSIBLY BE THERE IN THE NEW (RENEWED) EARTH (Genesis 1:31; Gen. 1:26-28; Matt. 7:11; 1 Tim. 6:17) - God just loves to make his people happy. Heaven will not mean less enjoyment. No. Rather, there will be much more enjoyment in heaven.
- HEAVEN WILL BE A PLACE OF COMFORT, COMPENSATION, LAUGHTER, AND REWARD (Matthew 5:4; Hebrews 10:34-35; Hebrews 11:8-10; Hebrews 11:13-16; Luke 6:21; Matthew 25:21)
MAKE SURE THAT YOU WILL MAKE IT TO HEAVEN
- If you have not yet turned away from sin and trusted in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, you need to do that as soon as possible (John 1:11-13; Philippians 3:20-21)
- If you are already a follower of Jesus Christ, stay true to him until the last day. Don’t give up or compromise (2 Corinthians 4:16-18)
